Ettiquette Advice

from Protocal Key Point

GREETING

Say “Hello” or “It is very nice to meet you”
Look the person in the eye
Extend your hand for a nice hand shake

SEATING

Sit in the front half of the chair
Cross ankles and tuck under chair
Knees together, dress over knees
Sit with the back straight like an arrow

CONVERSATION

Bring a smile to the table
Think of an “ice breaker” before the party
Talk about favorites (book, ice cream, sport)
Listening is an important part of conversation

DINING

The napkin stays in our lap until the end of the meal
Wait until everyone at our table is served before eating
Remember the “rest” and “finished” positions of the knife and fork
Most of all, have fun!
